Do you oppose or support state laws that ban assault-style weapons and high capacity magazines for civilian use?

Our reply:

As a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment of the United States of America which states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”, sensibility is necessary for its interpretation. As tanks are vehicles of war, assault-style weapons and high capacity magazines are weapons designed for warfare. The United States has “a well-regulated Militia,” known as our “Armed Forces.” Our State, Counties, and Cities are equipped with law enforcement agencies to protect and service communities relieving civilians of this responsibility. 

Our campaign supports such a ban as we never want to witness a broadcast such as the one regarding the firearm battle between law enforcement and the Mexican cartel in the streets of Culiacán, Mexico, on October 17, 2019. ABC News of Chicago reported six dead, 20 wounded, and the law enforcement agency releasing the man they apprehended to stop the retaliation.
